The Golden Age



Arthur is 90 years old. He's played golf every day since his retirement 25 years ago.

One day he arrives home looking downcast.

"That's it," he tells his wife. "I'm giving up golf. My eyesight has gotten so bad that once I've hit the ball I couldn't see where it went."

His wife sympathizes and makes him a cup of tea. As they sit down she says, "Why don't you take my brother with you and give it one more try."

"That's no good" sighs Arthur, "your brother's a hundred and three. He can't help."

"He may be a hundred and three", says the wife, "but his eyesight is perfect."

So the next day Arthur heads off to the golf course with his brother-in-law. He tees up, takes a mighty swing and squints down the fairway.

He turns to the brother-in-law who is 103 & says, "Did you see the ball?"

"Of course I did!" replied the brother-in-law. "I have perfect eyesight".

"Where did it go?" asks Arthur.

"I don't remember."

It's so rewarding to see everyone having a great time and becoming good friends. IN MY BOOK, YOU ALL DESERVE A HOLE IN ONE! And I am proud to say you belong to the GROWING SWINGN SINGLES FAMILY.

We have decided to extend the membership contest till the end of the year. When a VIP member brings a guest to a scramble and they pay for the guest on their credit card, the guest gets VIP price. The guest reimburses the member. If the guest signs up, the VIP Member is then put in the pool as having brought in a member. To qualify you must bring in at least 3 members. Whoever brings in the most members by the end of the year receives A YEARS MEMBERSHIP to the Swingn Singles Club for 2009. In case of a tie there will be a drawing and runner up will receive 6 months membership for 2009. Currently Bev, Gloria, and Nancy K. have brought in one member each. If your guest doesn't sign up and would like to attend another scramble they may join us at the non-member price.

DROP IN CLINIC

I have been able to negotiate with the Director of instruction, and my personal instructor, at Rooster Run Golf Club to put this clinic together. Dave Johnson, PGA. and his assistant Mary Beth Bursch, LPGA, will be giving Golf Clinics every Saturday at 4:30 pm at Rooster Run Golf Club. Dave specializes with people who have any physical injuries. He normally charges $100 per hour but he is giving Swingn Singles members 10% off the Clinic price. Prices are Adults $20, Seniors (65+) $15 and Juniors $10. Come out and join us and help your golf game. You can pre-register at (707)778-8125 x28 or (707)778-1211. Open to members and non-members.
